I’m absolutely in love with this video and this woman. Her journey to finding out her Chinese ancestry is so beautiful and powerful. This has definitely made me think about my lack of knowledge about my grandpa’s family (mother’s side). It’s really hard for me to be comfortable saying I’m Filipino because a) I was never exposed to that side of my family’s culture growing up at all. b) I’m a quarter Filipino so I always thought to myself that I don’t really belong and would just conclude that I’m not really Filipino.

Watching this ted talk was very important for me as it has definitely made me think about a culture that I never saw myself as identifying with. I definitely recommend you all watch this.
